Audemus Jura Nostra Defendere
About Me
I began my legal career within a multinational distribution company, where I developed a strong foundation in rigour, structured workflows, and interpersonal skills, benefiting from the exchange of knowledge within an international environment.
I later worked as in-house counsel in the construction sector for five years, gaining exposure to diverse jurisdictions and markets. This experience enabled me to strengthen both my technical legal expertise and emotional intelligence, while navigating complex regulatory frameworks across different geographical contexts.
Subsequently, I joined one of the most reputable law firms in Viseu, where I engaged closely with clients and their legal challenges. In this role, I focused not only on identifying the most effective legal solutions, but also on delivering outcomes tailored to each client’s personal circumstances—drawing on a fundamental yet often overlooked skill in legal practice: active listening.
I then returned to the corporate environment, working within a prominent national holding company, where I expanded my expertise across new areas of law and developed additional strategic competencies. I also gained valuable experience within the legal department of a biotechnology company, deepening my understanding of the healthcare sector and technological innovation.
Recognising the inherent complexity of legal matters and their significant impact on both individuals and businesses, I established my independent practice in 2024. I focus on areas in which I have developed strong technical expertise, while maintaining a broad and up-to-date perspective on evolving legal trends and disciplines.
My approach is guided by rigour, trust, and a continuous commitment to learning, combined with a strong emphasis on understanding each client’s concerns and objectives. Through a network of trusted partnerships, I ensure access to specialised knowledge across multiple fields, enabling me to deliver solutions that are both efficient and tailored to each situation. I firmly believe in the value of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and specialisation.
On a personal level, I am inspired by nature, poetry, photography, and continuous learning—above all, by new challenges. I find it impossible to choose between Fernando Pessoa, Florbela Espanca, and Gabriel García Márquez. Wherever I go, I am accompanied by a book, music, and a notebook.
“Sometimes I hear the wind passing by; and just hearing the wind pass by makes it worthwhile to have been born.”
